Background
Daniel Sheikhan is a lawyer in Canada and the United States, a real estate entrepreneur, and the founder of several ventures in law, real estate, education and finance. He is a Barrister and Solicitor in Ontario and an Attorney at Law in New York and Minnesota.
He began his legal career in the United States in intellectual property and contract law. In Ontario he went on to practise real estate law and criminal defence. Today his practice focuses on real estate and corporate law for small and medium-sized businesses.
As Managing Partner and Real Estate Broker at Danmar Empire Real Estate Corp., Brokerage, he leads residential, commercial and development transactions. Through Danmar Empire Group he oversees real estate development, private lending and strategic business advisory work.
He founded Genius Learning Lab, a Canadian education company that teaches practical business skills to students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 and to adult professionals. Its in-person and online courses cover financial literacy, entrepreneurship, legal education, real estate fundamentals and workforce development, for schools and corporate clients. These are skills that standard curricula often leave out.
His first business, started at university, was a marketing consultancy. It grew into private lending and advisory work. Today he advises high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors and developers on acquisitions, capital structure and closing a transaction.
He earned his Juris Doctor cum laude, with a Certificate in Dispute Resolution, and serves as a Qualified Neutral for mediation and arbitration in Minnesota. He was named a National Finalist in the ABA Negotiation Competition and went on to win first place at the 2021 International Negotiation Competition. He holds a Leadership Certificate from Harvard University. He works with a multinational clientele across North American markets.
